La Citadelle de Québec
Really cool old fort right in the main tourism hub. You have to pay for the guide because it’s an active military base. Our guilds in English was great! Just about 1 hour in length, if that. Be warned, it’s almost entirely outdoors… if you’re going in winter, dress for it!

I'm biased here as I used to live in Churchill. Having admitted that, this fort is an incredible part of Canadian history. Parks Canada has made it more accessible than ever and you should take the time out of your life to visit.

Not a very welcoming place. I was very disappointed. We wanted to take the ferry to the island and the young man workibg inside was useless as far as info

What an amazing story. Also we were fortunate enough to see a polar bear as we left the fort with our guide.

Even during half season, it's still amazing to visit. Just the sheer size of it is amazing. Wondering around you get a good feeling of what a settlement would have looked like. Not all buildings were open, those that were, had great things to tell and show. Some Interpretators had lot's of stories to tell and I loved being able to ask them questions. Plus, bring your binoculars, the views are stunning!

Fabulous heritage site with a lot of information about the War of 1812. My husband and I visited on a Sunday in August and saw various demonstrations of musket fire as well as cannon-fire.Everyone was in period costumes and the people demonstrating Camp / Fort life were informative and friendly.A gentleman showed us and discussed the use of various surgical tools used by the battlefield surgeons of the time.

This place is great, in the low season is nice because it was fairly quiet with no lines, in the busy season there is so much to do and see!We did the time traveller tour and it was great, our time travelling guides were fantastic, especially Pierre, and the hot chocolate was delicious. We would 100% do this again next time!

We had a very nice time and spent some time on our own walking around but then also got a guided tour for about 45 minutes which I recommend since you can’t read all that displays you want to. They gave a nice overview of the place, so if you haven’t done any research on it ahead of time that’s fine. The day we went there was no fog, and we could see everything really clearly. Apparently that can sometimes be an issue.

La Citadelle de Québec
An active military base with historic buildings. Since it is an active base, there are uniformed personnel. Has an ongoing construction at the entrance, watch out for the signs, it is confusing. Has an entrance fee. Has a guided tour in english. Does have an artillery fire at the end. Has a museum for Canada military history and contributions. Not really amazed except from the view it provides giving a clear view of the lake and its surroundings. Accepts credit and debit. Has a parking space, cafeteria and souvenir shop
